Lens Treatments

Intraocular lens treatments are modern vision correction methods that use special artificial lenses implanted inside the eye.
During this treatment, the lens either replaces the eye's natural lens or, in some cases, is implanted in addition to the natural lens.

It is a permanent and safe option not only for cataract treatment, but also for many people who want to get rid of their dependence on glasses or contact lenses.
Particularly successful results are obtained in individuals with high myopia, hyperopia, or corneal structure unsuitable for laser surgery.

The goal of intraocular lens treatment

This treatment aims to permanently restore the eye's focusing power, providing clear, comfortable, and long-lasting vision.
The implanted lenses are selected based on the patient's age, visual needs, and eye structure.

Intraocular lenses:

It provides clarity close to natural vision quality.

It reduces or eliminates the need for glasses and contact lenses.

Who is it suitable for?

Lens treatments are preferred not only in cataract patients, but also in the following cases:

  • High degree of myopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism

  • Corneal structure unsuitable for laser surgery.

  • Presbyopia (difficulty seeing close objects after age 40)

  • Residual refractive error after laser surgery or desire for independence from glasses.

  • After a detailed evaluation of the patient's eye structure, retinal health, and corneal thickness, a personalized lens is selected.

Types of lenses used

  • ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens): A special lens implanted inside the eye corrects refractive errors. It is ideal for individuals with unsuitable corneal structures.

  • Refractive lens replacement: In older, presbyopic individuals, the natural lens is removed and a multifocal lens is implanted. This provides independence from glasses.

Lens treatment process
Treatment is completed quickly using advanced microsurgical techniques.

  • Duration: Approximately 15–20 minutes for each eye.

  • Anesthesia: Usually administered painlessly using topical anesthetic.

  • Sedation: Mild sedation can be provided to patients who desire it.

  • Afterwards: Following a short rest period after the procedure, the patient is discharged.

  • Recovery: Vision usually clears significantly within a few days.

  • Surgical procedure: The eyes are usually operated on separately, 1-2 days apart.

This method is a reliable and long-lasting solution that has been applied worldwide for many years with high success rates.

Post-operative period

Most patients achieve clear vision from the first day after surgery.
In the first few days, there may be mild stinging, watering, or sensitivity to light, but these symptoms will disappear quickly.
The patient can return to normal daily life within a week.

As long as check-ups are not missed, the risk of complications is extremely low.
Vision quality remains stable over the years.

Final words

Intraocular lens treatments mean not only eliminating blurriness, but also seeing the world again in a vivid and clear way.
When modern technology, experienced surgical approach, and personalized planning come together,
A life without glasses is no longer just a dream — it's a real possibility.
